Kebutuhan Sosial Mahasiswa Ditinjau Dari Hierarki Kebutuhan Maslow

Abstract


Social needs are basic human needs, it is also important for students to expand socialization, family relationships, friendships and the wider community. If social needs are met properly, it can have a significant impact on students, such as students achieving more, being independent and giving their own meaning to their lives. The purpose of the research is to find out how important social needs are and how students can fulfill them. Analysis technique, interpretive phenomenology (IPA) where researchers interpret existing or experienced phenomena. Analysis techniques include interview transcripts, exploratory comments, emerging themes, and superordinate themes. There are six themes from the results of this study, namely 1) the definition of social needs, 2) the role of social needs, 3) the importance of meeting social needs, 4) ways to meet social needs, 5) elements of social needs, and 6) benefits when social needs are met. The results found that students need social needs in the form of affection, love, respect and the need for community. If social needs are met, they will get a support system and easily get help when experiencing difficulties, but if they are not met, they will feel lonely, alone and isolated.
