Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental awareness, tourism literacy, and the role of managers on the development of halal tourism in Lon Malang Beach, Sampang. The background of this study is based on the great potential of marine tourism in Sampang, which has not been optimally developed due to low environmental awareness, limited tourism literacy, and the weak role of destination managers. The research method used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis of 100 respondents consisting of tourism managers, MSME actors, and the surrounding community. The results showed that simultaneously, the three independent variables had a significant effect on the development of halal tourism. However, partially, only the variable of the role of managers had a positive and significant effect, while environmental awareness and tourism literacy had no significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of increasing the capacity of managers and stakeholder collaboration in realizing a competitive and sustainable halal tourism destination.
