Abstract

This study examines village government strategies in enhancing women's roles through micro-enterprises, with a review from the perspective of maqashid syariah. Indonesia, as a developing country, faces high poverty challenges despite its abundance of natural and human resources. Village governments play a crucial role in economic empowerment through MSMEs, especially in rural areas like Bangkalan Regency, Madura, which has potential in marine products (e.g., shrimp crackers and other processed seafood). Women are often involved in micro-enterprises as an alternative source of additional income, but they need strategic support to improve economic independence and family welfare. The maqashid syariah perspective emphasizes the objectives of Islamic sharia, such as hifz al-mal (protection of wealth) and hifz al-nasl (protection of progeny), which support women's empowerment without violating principles of gender equality and social justice. The research objectives are to analyze village government strategies in enhancing women's roles through micro-enterprises and village economies, and to examine these strategies based on maqashid syariah principles to ensure alignment with Islamic values. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design in Junganyar Village, Socah District, Bangkalan Regency.
