Kekuatan Bahasa Inklusif: Pengaruhnya terhadap Aspek Kognitif dan Afektif dalam Komunikasi

Bima Kurniawan

Abstract

Communication plays an important role as a social tool for individuals to meet their life needs and build personal, professional, and social interactions in one's life. The rapid development of communication technology, especially the internet, has significantly changed the someone's perspective in interaction, allowing for faster and broader message exchange. The use of language strategies is essential in maintaining harmony within diversity. This research will explore the importance of using inclusive language in respecting affective domains and appreciating one's cognitive skills. The study employs an associative qualitative approach that links the role of inclusive language to its influence on human behavior. Several studies have shown that the use of inclusive language plays a crucial role in respecting feelings, honoring dignity, and accepting the diversity of thought in society. On the other hand, offensive language, which represents a violation and antithesis of inclusive language, has the potential to damage national unity and integrity. Offensive language can trigger social tension, worsen social interaction between communities, and create a communication climate filled with conflict and animosity.
